Scripture:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Reflection:
Rest is often misunderstood as weakness, yet Jesus presents it as an invitation. He does not ask the weary to prove themselves before coming to Him. He simply says, “Come.”
When we refuse to rest, we rely only on our own strength. When we rest, we acknowledge our limits and trust God’s provision. Rest allows the soul to recover and the heart to realign with God.
Today, allow yourself permission to pause. Rest is not neglecting responsibility — it is trusting God enough to stop.
Prayer:
Jesus, I bring my weariness to You. Teach me to rest in Your care. Amen.
